Step 1 — Search for Medicine
How do I search?
Go to Find Medicine from the menu or homepage. Type your symptom in English — for example: "headache", "sore throat", "runny nose", or "wound". You can also type multiple symptoms at once like "headache fever".
Can I browse by category?
Yes. On the search page you'll see 20 symptom category buttons. Tap any category (Pain & Fever, Cold & Flu, Wound & Cut, etc.) to instantly see relevant medicines.
How are results ranked?
Results are ranked by how closely the medicine matches your symptoms. Medicines that match more of your symptom keywords appear first.
What does each medicine card show?
Each card shows the Korean medicine name (한국어), the efficacy description in your language, symptom tags, and whether it's available at a pharmacy only or also at convenience stores.
Step 2 — My Card (Pharmacy Card)
What is My Card?
My Card is a bilingual communication card you can show to a Korean pharmacist. It lists the medicines you want, your allergies, useful Korean phrases, and dosage information — all in one printable card.
How do I add a medicine to My Card?
From the search results, tap "+ Add to Card" on any medicine card. You can also tap "View Details" to read more about the medicine, then add it from the detail page.
How do I view My Card?
Tap "My Card" in the top navigation bar at any time. Your saved medicines are stored in your browser — they stay saved even if you close the page.
Can I enter my allergies?
Yes. At the top of My Card there is an allergy input field. Type any known allergies (e.g. Penicillin, Aspirin). This information will appear on the card to show the pharmacist.
How do I use the card at the pharmacy?
Simply open My Card on your phone and show it to the pharmacist. The card displays the Korean medicine name, dosage in Korean, your language, and key phrases like "이 약을 구매하고 싶습니다" (I would like to buy this medicine).
Can I print the card?
Yes. Tap "Print / Share" at the top of My Card to open your browser's print dialog. You can print it or save it as a PDF to use offline.
How do I remove a medicine from the card?
On My Card, tap the ✕ button on any medicine entry to remove it. Tap "Clear all" to remove everything.
Will my card data be saved?
Yes. Your card is saved in your browser's local storage. It persists across sessions on the same device. It is never sent to any server.
Step 3 — At the Pharmacy
What do I say at the pharmacy?
Show your My Card screen to the pharmacist. The card includes the Korean phrase "이 약을 구매하고 싶습니다" (I would like to buy this medicine). You don't need to speak Korean.
How do I find an open pharmacy nearby?
Tap "Find Pharmacy" in the navigation. The map shows nearby pharmacies with their open/closed status, address, and phone number. You can filter to show only currently open pharmacies.
Are all medicines available without a prescription?
BeautyDir Pharm only lists OTC (일반의약품) medicines that can be purchased without a prescription. Some medicines marked "pharmacy only" cannot be bought at convenience stores — check the badge on each card.
What if the pharmacist doesn't have the exact medicine?
The pharmacist can usually suggest a generic equivalent. Show them the generic name (제조사) shown on each medicine card — they will understand the active ingredient needed.
