Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or to soybean oil, soybeans, or peanuts, or infants under 12 months of age should not take this drug. Before taking this drug, pregnant women, women who may be pregnant, lactating mothers, premature babies, infants, hyperoxaluria (a condition in which excessive amounts of oxalate is excreted in the urine), gastrointestinal diseases such as peptic ulcer, chronic ulcerative colitis, and localized colitis, heart and circulatory system dysfunction, kidney disorders, hypoproteinemia, gout or kidney stones, hyperlipoproteinemia, diabetic hyperlipidemia, and patients with fat metabolism abnormalities such as pancreatitis. Alternatively, patients who need to administer lipid emulsions with caution, patients with a predisposition to thrombosis (blood vessel blockage), or patients with or experience hypersensitivity to Yellow No. 5 should consult a doctor or pharmacist. Be sure to follow the prescribed usage and dosage. It may interfere with the detection of blood sugar during various urinalysis tests. If symptoms do not improve even after taking it for about 1 month, stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
